I.D.E.A. – to create a pool for feedback and support for performance, by writing and understanding. this is an opportunity to share your work – dance, song, poetry or performance. IDEA is a public showing of work-in-progress and proces from the (international) dance and performance community in amsterdam. each work is followed by 3 minutes of writing time for the audience. instead of reviewing or scrutinizing we encourage a writing from the senses - the fountain form*. we end with reading our responses, tea and talk. these written responses are compiled into the new IDEA- LOG, a booklet of reflections from performers and audience, made after several IDEA Showings in Studio de Koe. Recommended reading!

* originally launched in 1991 by Christina Svane and Pauline de Groot in Studio de Koe, Amsterdam, the first I.D.E.A. Open Showings began as a once monthly event. Through the open format and by Christina Svane’s introduction of the Fountain Form and the IDEA-Log - a booklet of reflections from performers and audience– the original IDEA showings continued for seven years into winter 1998. After a hibernation of 3 years, IDEA and the making of the log, are revived through the new community of performers around Amsterdam since October 2002. IDEA Showings - Amsterdam: oct. 2002; febr, april 2003; march, may, november 2004; march, june, 2005; oct 2005, febr, may, october 2006. next: march 2007. plop!
